A Day at The Zoo

Well I can check one more thing off my summer to-do list. Today we went to the zoo with some friends from the neighborhood. We had free passes for the kids so we only had to buy two adult tickets and pay for parking. SWEET! We tried to get there by 9:30, we made it there by about 10:30 and we left around 1. It was only 80-something degrees so warm enough to make you sweat but definitely not near as bad as my memories of hiking all over the Dallas Zoo. All in all it was a pretty good day. The kids had a good time and I think we will probably head back in the fall when the temperatures are even more favorable. Allison was the funniest. This morning all she was talked about was seeing the giraffes. Then when we got there she kept asking to see the monkeys. We went to every monkey exhibit I could find and she was thrilled. Then, when we saw the Elephants, she fell in love. She wanted to stay. She did NOT like any of the swimming animals. When we went to see the Manatees they also had tanks with fish and one with a giant snapping turtle. She dug her hands in to my chest and begged me to put her back in the stroller. Here are a few pictures from the day:
