Ok, so for the summer I have been getting up and going on a short walk most mornings before David heads to work. I haven't felt much like taking the kids to the sad excuse for child care at the gym and our days are usually packed anyway, making a side stop at the gym difficult to work in. Anyway, three houses at the other end of our street recently sold and I noticed one morning that the newest people to move in had TEXAS plates on their cars. It was alll I could do not to go knock on their door. (but since it was only a little past 6:30 am, I refrained) THEN, on Saturday, when I was taking the older two to the pool, I noticed a UT flag flying from their flag post. The same UT flag we had flying from our flag post. (Saturday was the season opener) So Sunday, when Amy and I went on a short walk and the new neighbors happened to be out in their driveway. I had to stop by and say hi. Turns out they moved here from McKinney and the husband grew up in the Carrollton-Farmers Branch area! He went to R.L. Turner High School and graduated from there in '83. My older brother and I went to Turner's crosstown rival, Newman Smith, but the dividing line shifted while we were there so my younger brother graduated from Turner. The husband attended UT for 3 years but graduated from another college, I can't remember which one, something up by Dallas. The wife went to the UT medical school up by Dallas. YEA! Texas people and UT fans to boot! If only they had daughters it would be perfect! But alas, they have two boys, a 3rd grader and a 4 year old. Oh well ... still, it's nice to have another Longhorn flag flying in with all the Ohio State flags ......
