So apparently God made the end of May and start of June busy for a reason - He is trying to distract me from all the sadness that is tied to this time of year as well. It's getting to be quite full of death and dying - I am about to seek shelter under a rock! Take a look at this list! (unless you are in a particularly good mood right now, in that case, skip this post and go read the next one. It's much happier and has pitcures of my cute, cute kids)
Memorial Day Weekend, 1995: Unknown to me at the time, it was the last time I would see my Mother alive
June 22, 1995: My mom passes away
End of May 2001: My mom's dad passes away
June 12, 2004: My dad's father passes away
June 18, 2008: My dad's mother passes away
And to add to the fun of the month - my dear friend Heather flew to Houston yesterday to say her goodbyes to her father. He was sent home from M. D. Anderson with a hospital bed and morphine patch and given about a week to live. AND my husband is trying to be supportive but is wrapped in his own stress as he will spend most of today laying people off at Dell. So far we feel safe but there will truly be no security for us until the end of this month.
The end of the month - it seems so far away - but I am looking towards it and praying that July is filled with happiness and life.
