Prayers for a Friend

I know I promised my next post would be cheery but .....

My good friend, Lesley, is headed to MD Anderson tomorrow for more evaluation and consultation and I am praying for her.

Please Lord, fill her with You. Fill her so full You cast out her fear. Fill her so full she radiates You to those she comes in contact with. Fill her so full of You that You push out that 1% of cancer remaining in her body.

Hold her husband Charlie close to you Lord. Hold him up. Give him the strength only You can give him so he can be a husband to Lesley and a father to those two dear daughters.

Lord - give Lesley and Charlie the strength and the peace they will need to face the days ahead. Be with them in such a way that they never doubt Your presence. Put people in their path that will build them up. Smooth over the details of traffic and schedules and parking and packing. Give them wisdom to ask the right questions. Give them a peace that passes understanding. Give them strength, give them Your strength.

Lord, please grant the doctors attending to Lesley's case the wisdom they need to formulate a plan. Shine Your light on them Lord.

Lord I pray for 100% total healing for Lesley here on earth. A healing so miraculous and inexplicable from any scientific or medical point of view that all the glory goes to you God. Let Lesley be a beacon for You. Let her faith, and the faith of those with her, reach those who don't know You. Let Lesley and Charlie be able to see some blessing in this curse.

Lord - watch over their daughters Sydney and Peyton. Protect them Lord from sadness. Protect them from harmful words. Protect them from pain. Hold them close in Your arms Lord and comfort them. Cast out their fears oh Lord, be with them.

Amen
