A Good Day!

I think God saw my struggles the last few days and sent me just the kind of day I needed to lift my spirits a tad. Thank You Lord!

Last night David decided a trip to the Dayton Children's Museum was in order for Saturday morning. You should have seen Allison's face light up when he mentioned it to her.  Reminding him of his promise was one of the first things out of her mouth this morning,

We left around 9:15 a.m. and got to the museum around 9:45.  We stayed until about 12:30 and even then, they still didn't want to leave.  They had some new exhibits.  One was a whole room devoted to brain teasers and educational type games and puzzles - all hands on of course.  They LOVED it! (and I must admit, so did David and I) Another new exhibit was a pretend pizza shop based on a local chain - Cassano's.  We decided it would be fun to find a "real" one for lunch.  We asked the gals at the information desk and they gave us directions.  It was fun to eat at a place we had just learned the history of and the pizza wasn't that bad.  Only drawback? They had a pizza called "Hog Wild" which was ham, bacon, sausage and jalapenos - yes - jalapenos.  You would think I had learned my lesson after being up all night after garlic bread but it just sounded so good - I went for it.  Oh well - antacids will be my best friend tonight .....

As we were leaving - I noticed a Sam's Club in the next parking lot. A Sam's shopping trip was on my to-do list for the weekend but not something I was really looking forward to,  I sort of half heartedly suggested we hit it since we were practically already there and surprisingly David went for it.  We needed cat litter (b/c that darn cat is never going to die ...) and I can't lift the 40 pound bucket of it right now,  It's so silly but the fact that David bought two things of it - so I'd have plenty on hand for when he is travelling - really hit me as a romantic gesture.  Yes - love after 13 years of marriage takes on all kinds of nuances my friends.... And another score - we found fake Uggs for Audrey and Amy for a fairly decent price.  They were thrilled to get their new "Fuggs" (as they like to call them) and I was thrilled to not have to go shopping for them later.  Scary thing is - they both got them in ladies' size 6!  They are growing up too fast!!!!

We ended up with a cart FULL of stuff (and if you have ever been shopping with my husband you can totally understand how that happened)  We had driven to the museum in the Volvo and the girls and I were really starting to panic that it wasn't all going to fit into the trunk.  David assured us he could make it fit and lo and behold he did it! It was so cute watching the girls look on in awe as he fit it all in.  To tell you the truth I was pretty amazed myself.  One of the items we bought today was a power washer - A POWER WASHER!  David the Magnificent managed to fit a power washer, two 40 pound buckets of cat litter, and various other groceries and paper products into the trunk of this car:

Again - my heart was swooning
and again - I was laughing at what it takes make my heart swoon these days ....
buying cat litter is now a romantic gesture and fitting amazing amounts of Sam's Club purchases in the trunk of a sedan makes me want to stand up and shout - "Yeah baby - that's MY husband!"
Oh I am officially old ... and boring .....

After resting for a short bit at home we left again to attend the church block party. We were tired but we knew the kids really wanted to go.  There was going to be a "jumpy house" and TWO inflatable water slides .... TWO!  How could we not take them??  Plus, it was warm (for Ohio anyway) and they were running to and fro in a parking lot for a solid hour.  Guess what?  They came home tired and oh so quiet.  We ate leftovers for dinner and watched some recorded shows and when Mom and Dad declared "bed time" everyone went quite willingly. SCORE!

Like the title says - it has been A Good Day in the Albert house today  - yes indeed!
