The Bed that was "Just Right"

So our little Allison is turning out to be a bit of a sleep walker. David found her asleep in our closet one morning. I found her asleep across the threshold of her bedroom door one night and lately ... she prefers Amy's bed. Sometimes Amy wakes up when Allison comes in but quite often she does not. (As you can see in the picture above, last night it was Amy, Allison and the cat in the bed. Martha also sleeps many nights at the foot of Amy's bed.) Every night we check to see if Allison is in her own bed. If she isn't, I carry her back to her bed and then we make sure to close the gate across the top of the stairs. Some nights she will end up in Amy's bed 2-3 times and she pretty much goes in there every morning without fail and either wakes Amy up for the day, or plays with Amy's toys, or climbs in bed with Amy until Amy does wake up. Why Amy's bed? I am not 100% sure but here are my guesses ..... When Amy once asked Allison to go back to her own room she told Amy no, her room was too cold and there was a monster in it. Now Amy's room is the warmest of the 3 in the winter. Amy's window does not catch the wind like the other two do and Amy gets morning sun. Amy also sleeps with 2-3 night lights on and also has her CD player on repeat so there is constant music or "audio book" playing. Also, Allison is very attached to Amy. Audrey started Kindergarten the year Allison was born and with our move, Amy was not in pre-school. Last year Audrey was in school all day and Amy was in afternoon pre-school. Pre-school here is very short, 2 1/2 hours and it was only 3 days a week. This year Amy is in Kinder but it is only half day. So when Amy has gone to school - it has pretty much been during Allison's nap time. Almost anywhere Allison goes, Amy goes with. They both come run morning errands with me, they both go to Bible Study with me on Wednesday, they both go to story time at the library on Thursday, they both hang out with me during Audrey's Wednesday night dance class .... I am already guessing that next year will be very hard for Allison. Amy will be in school all day. For the first time in Allison's little life, both of her sisters will get on a bus in the morning and not come back home until late afternoon. Fortunately Allison is signed up for pre-school 2 days a week next year and I am hoping that will help.
