We made it through!

Well D-Day has come and gone. David still has a job and the pay is about the same but he no longer works for dell. After 13 years with dell David was told on that Wednesday that as of midnight, he would no longer be employed by Dell. David is currently employed by Ceva Logistics. He is still working at the same place but taking on more responsibilities. Ceva will take over the lease on the building and while they will still continue to ship Dell stuff from here, they will probably begin to ship other things as well. I am thankful David still has a job but I am concerned with a few points. They gave him a $1,500 raise on his annual salary. Big deal - that's not much more than an extra $100 a month. And what about bonuses? David's bonus is usually between 5-10 thousand dollars. If the annual salary is only increased by $1,500 and there is no bonus, it's actually a pay cut. AND with more responsibility there is usually more stress. I have lived with stressed from work David before and he is NOT alot of fun. ALSO, David has not made it home before 6:45 since this whole switchover took place. That is NOT gonna fly once school starts back up. We need to be done with dinner by 6:30 if there is any chance of getting kids bathed and in bed on time. And the biggest pit in my stomach - if David works for this Ceva company, will we EVER move home?

But I know I should shut up and count my blessings. It could have been far worse. They could have shut the facility down and sent us packing. At least he has a job. But oh how I wish it was a job that meant we would eventually move south of here. David said he thinks the same thing that happened here will happen to the place in Nashville. Maybe if it does it will be Ceva who comes in again and maybe they will move us there to help with that transition? A girl can hope right? Or maybe this Ceva company will turn out to be better than Dell with more chance for advancement. Maybe will David will sky rocket to the top and then even if we don't move home, we'll be rolling in dough and be able to afford to send me and the kids home to TX for a month each summer? Or buy a cabin in Tennessee or Georgia? If a girl is going to dream, she may as well dream big right?
