I know, I know - I haven't been blogging much. We've been busy!!!! Really, we have!
And David took some much needed time off and when he is here he runs the wireless network. For whatever reason, when the wireless network is up, it sucks the LIFE out of the internet connection and certain sites are either painfully slow or flat out won't work. Blogger happens to be one of those sites. So when he is here, I can only blog in spurts.
And it is summer. The kids are home. I am either busy doing stuff with them or refereeing them or they are using the computer. Their latest obsession is some Hannah Montana game on Disney where they have to find her journal and they unlock all these clues and things and earn "outfits" .....
Here's what we have been up to since school let out:
June 9 - Allison's birthday. School was still in but I took all 3 girls to Chuck E Cheese anyway.
June 11 - Last day of school, shopping for David's birthday gifts, celebratory dinner that night
June 12 - Audrey and Amy had a little party with 3 friends each invited over for the afternoon. It was also David's birthday. I had baking and gift wrapping to do after the friends left. Then it was dinner downtown that night
June 13 - Our neighbor's oldest son's graduation party
June 14 - St. Max Festival
June 15 - Swim lessons began. Mon-Thurs: 10:30-11 for two weeks
June 17 - Haircuts for Audrey and Amy
June 18 - Amy went to a birthday party, I started packing for our trip
June 19-21 - Our trip to Tennessee
June 23 - Ortho appt for Audrey and a friend from swim lessons came over
June 24 - Unplanned trip to doctor for Audrey, swimmer's ear
Eye doctor appts for David and Myself
June 26 - Audrey and Amy need to be at church at 8:15 for newspaper interview regarding AHG. My tire blows out in the garage. A friend comes to get Audrey and Amy, David comes home and puts the spare on for me. Audrey and Amy come back home. We all head to Allison's 3 year old well check. Drive through McD's afterwards and head to Sam's for 4 new tires. Spend TWO AND A HALF HOURS at Sam's
June 28 - Jessica, Ethan and Aiden arrive
June 28,29,20 - Summer Nights Live event at church 6:30pm-8:30pm. (we skipped Sunday night but went Mon and Tues) Sort of a VBS but for the whole family. Jessica took pictures, I'll have to get copies.
June 29 - Jessica and I took the kids to the pool for a few hours
June 30 - We spent the morning at Fort Liberty Park
July 1 - Jess and the boys leave for Michigan, we head to the free movie, "Tale of Desperaux", it was pretty good. Then we head to the library and finally sign up for the Summer Reading Program. At 3:30 Audrey and Amy head to a friend's house and then end up eating dinner there and spending the night
July 2 - I finally have to go GET Audrey and Amy from Maddie's house, they were there almost a full 24 hours! I love, love, LOVE that they have found such a good friend in the neighborhood.
July 3 - shopping, shopping, shopping. The girls turned in a reading log to Half Price Books and each got a $3 coupon. Audrey and Amy brought some piggy bank money along and each got two new American Girl books and Allison got one new Max and Ruby book. We also hit a resale shop and sales at Children's Place and Gymboree and found a few good deals.
July 4 - Liberty Township Festival until the rain hit, hanging out at home while it rained all day, watching neighborhood fireworks from our yard that night. This year Maddie and her family came over and watched with us.
July 5 - Church for us girls, skeet shooting with Tom for David. Then packing and then driving Audrey to camp, dinner at Cracker Barrel on the way home.
And in between there have been other playdates and afternoons at the pool.
WHEW! It's been busy!!!!! Fun but busy! And here I had all these great plans for our home school - summer school .... So far all we've managed to do is a few pages from some workbooks .... Oh well - if we get to it, we get to it .....
And we still have so much more we want to do! We haven't been to any of the Children's Museum's, we haven't been to the zoo, Amy heads to camp July 19-20, and David's mom will be here July 24-27
