Baby Olympics

I think Andrew was inspired by the Summer Olympics.  It seems he is in training to be a serious medal contender in some Olympic events of his own.

Eating: He might lose some points in the technique category; his food in the mouth vs food in and on the chair ratio is a little off. However, we are confident he can make it back up in the artistic category as he does an excellent job of smearing food in lovely patterns and manages to cover quite a wide area with smudges and crumbs.

Diaper Change Vaulting: I think he might be a shoe in for the gold here.  He can twist and contort like the girls never could.  And he is also quite adept at grabbing anything within his reach and either throwing it or shoving it in his mouth.

Backwards Scooting: While he has yet to master crawling - that boy can scoot backwards faster than any baby I know.  To date he has gotten stuck under two beds and one couch and if it weren't for the gate in front of our fireplace we could also add getting stuck in the fireplace to that list.

And my least favorite event - teething.  He went all out here and decided to cut FOUR teeth at once.  The bottom two have now come through, the top two are still painfully swollen. He also earned extra points here for timing by deciding to begin this event when David was out of town for 3 and 1/2 days with the Expedition. I was left at home with 4 kids and a Volvo sedan which pretty much translates in to I was under house arrest with four kids ... And one was teething .....It was not pretty ....

Life with my kids - it's never a dull moment, never ... But I wouldn't change it for the world.
